Licenses and Credits
Credit System
BCI Gebouw operates on a license-based model, where your organization purchases a license that includes a set number of credits. Each 1 credit = 1 building for a period of 12 months.
For each building, you can calculate an unlimited number of scenarios—whether conventional, timber frame (HSB), or anything in between. You can freely adjust and compare different scenarios, providing valuable insights for yourself or as a discussion tool with clients.
Not sure if your project requires one or multiple credits? Take this quick test:
- Am I calculating or optimizing for one address?
- Is the address unknown, but am I calculating for one building type (archetype)?
- Are modifications per building type limited to extensions, dormers, or layout changes (mid/end-terrace)?
If you answered yes to any of the above, you only need one credit.
12-Month Validity
Once a credit is activated, it remains valid for 12 months. After this period, the credit expires, and the building becomes inactive—you can still view it, but no further modifications can be made. Want to continue working on the building? You can reactivate it using another credit.
Important:
- You cannot manually set a building to “inactive” to reclaim credits. Any calculations or modifications made are final.
- Unused credits expire after 12 months if not activated within the license period.
Reporting
Every calculation can be reported at any time—either during or after the process. Each credit allows for up to 20 reports before report credits run out. Need more reports? Contact us for additional options.
Users & Authorization Levels
BCI Gebouw licenses are not user-based but rather building-based. Whether one person or 1,000 people use the license does not affect the pricing. However, as a BCI Gebouw license holder, you can manage access: each license must assign at least one administrator, who holds the highest level of authorization.
Administrator privileges include:
- Granting colleagues access to the BCI Gebouw license (both at license and project level).
- Assigning user authorization levels.
- Granting and revoking external access (at project level).
- Starting, calculating, and reporting on projects.
Viewing all projects within the portfolio.
Other authorization levels:
- Moderator – Can view all projects within the license, create projects, make changes, and generate reports but cannot manage authorizations.
- Calculator – Cannot create projects but can modify assigned projects.
- Viewer – Can only view assigned projects.
License Options
Licenses can be purchased as single licenses (for one credit). However, if your organization plans to perform multiple calculations over 12 months—such as determining and optimizing MPG scores, developing within Paris Proof, or applying for MIA/Vamil subsidies—then corporate licenses offer a more cost-effective solution with bulk credit pricing.
