For Manufacturers of Circular Building Products
The demand for circular building products is growing, but how do you ensure that your products are selected for sustainable construction projects? Transparency and measurable environmental impact are key for both regulatory compliance and market acceptance.
How BCI Gebouw Helps You
BCI Gebouw enables manufacturers to showcase and compare their circular building products directly to building owners, contractors, and consultants. By registering your products in our database (based on EPD/LCA data), they become visible in CO₂ and circularity calculations, making it easy for clients to include them in their selection process.
Additionally, BCI Gebouw aligns seamlessly with CSRD and ESG obligations, giving your products a competitive advantage in tenders and project selections.
Integration with the National Environmental Database (NMD)
BCI Gebouw uses the National Environmental Database (NMD). To register your product, you must submit it directly to the NMD.
If you already have an EPD, and you want your product to be included in the Nibe and Alba Concepts databases (covering material flows and disassemblability), you can apply for a PCI (Product Circularity Index).
Product Circularity Index (PCI) Assessment
The PCI consists of two key assessments:
- Material Circularity Index (MCI) – Evaluates the origin and future scenario of materials.
- Disassemblability Index (LI) – Assesses connection types, accessibility, edge constraints, and intersections.
The PCI results serve as input for the Nibe & Alba Concepts databases.
Process for Including Products in the Database
- Initial consultation on the current product situation (material composition, detailing).
- Submission of required documents, including:
- Technical drawings (assembly and disassembly manuals).
- Detailed product specifications.
- Verified Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) and EPD Reviewer report.
- Preparation of the Bill of Materials (BoM) and Bill of Connections (BoC).
- Translation of BoM and BoC into a Material Circularity Index and Disassemblability Index.
- Processing the data into the databases.
The fee for drafting these PCI’s and adding them to the databases is € 500 (excluding VAT) per PCI. Contact Leandre Soffers for more information or to register a PCI.
